Student art on display at Lone Tree Arts Center March 9
LONE TREE-- The Douglas County School District Art Exhibition is just around the corner.
This collection of artwork from students across Douglas County School District (DCSD) will showcase the immense talents of students in the fine arts. A mixture of 2D and 3D works will be displayed in a gallery setting at the Lone Tree Art Center.
Students, families, community members and teachers are invited to celebrate the creativity and critical thinking demonstrated by DCSD students.
The Exhibition runs from March 9-14.
Professional judges will be awarding artwork from different levels, styles, and mediums. Additionally, students have also been engaged as judges for the first time this year. Students were encouraged to apply to be a “learning judge” wherein they would shadow a professional judge to learn about the process of selecting and awarding scholarships and prizes.
Award winners' works of art will continue to be displayed for the three weeks in the atrium of the Lone Tree Art Center following the initial weekend exhibit. Winners will also receive scholarship awards from DCSD and The Air Academy Federal Credit Union during a special reception to be held on March 31.
