Mountain Ridge 8th grader wins 2016 DCSD Spelling Bee
CASTLE ROCK – It took seven hours, 371 words and 42 rounds to declare this year’s winner of the Douglas County School District Spelling Bee.
Eighty-six students representing 60 schools took part in the Douglas County School District (DCSD) Spelling Bee on Saturday, February 6 at Castle Rock Middle School.
place went to Maya Vendhan of Sky View Academy.
The top 25 spellers will now move forward to the Colorado State Spelling Bee, which will be held on Saturday, March 12th at DU's Sturm Hall.
