Junior Jacob Cade Finalist for IMEA Awards

Ponderosa Junior Jacob Cade is a finalist in 3 categories for the International Music and Entertainment Awards.  The Categories include Rock Song of the Year: Ball and Chain - The Jacob Cade Project written by Jacob Cade; Rock Album of the Year: Prince of Rock N Role - The Jacob Cade Project; and Rock Group of the Year: The Jacob Cade Project.

The purpose and mission of the International Music and Entertainment Association’s IMEA Awards is to honor and recognize the best in independent music, theatre, and live entertainment, internationally. The IMEA Awards, presented annually, highlight excellence in the performing arts and entertainment industries.The International Music and Entertainment Association (IMEA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and serving as an advocate to individuals and organizations within the performing arts and entertainment industries. To learn more about the International Music and Entertainment Association and to submit for your vote click here.  Voting ends October 7, 2015.

District News

The Douglas County School District Board of Education welcomes Dr. Thomas S. Tucker into the role of Superintendent of Douglas County School District. Dr. Tucker officially leads the 68,000 student district as of July 1, 2018.


Nearly 1,500 Colorado students applied for the prestigious Boettcher Foundation Scholarship this year, with 42 being named recipients. Of those, the Douglas County School District (DCSD) is proudly home to four recipients.


When it comes to mental health services, communities traditionally focus on supporting kids as needs arise. This work is crucial for the safety of our students. Equally important, though, is prevention-based programming that can help, early on, prevent the social-emotional challenges our kids may be experiencing from escalating.
