Staff Appreciation Week: May 1 - 5

Castle Rock Elementary is home to a wonderful group of teachers and staff! Join the PTO during the week of May 1-5 as we share our appreciation for all of their hard work! Each day of the week, students will have the opportunity to participate in simple gestures that will share their gratitude towards their teachers and support staff here at CRE! 

Monday, May 1st:  

Tell your teacher one thing you appreciate about them!

Tuesday, May 2nd:

Bring your teacher a flower today!

Wednesday, May 3rd:

Bring your teacher a note or a picture you made for them!

Thursday, May 4th:

Support your support staff:  Send notes, cards, and letters of appreciation to the people behind the scenes who are there for us all every day!

Friday, May 5th:

Bring your teacher their favorite treat!

District News

The Douglas County School District Board of Education welcomes Dr. Thomas S. Tucker into the role of Superintendent of Douglas County School District. Dr. Tucker officially leads the 68,000 student district as of July 1, 2018.


Nearly 1,500 Colorado students applied for the prestigious Boettcher Foundation Scholarship this year, with 42 being named recipients. Of those, the Douglas County School District (DCSD) is proudly home to four recipients.


When it comes to mental health services, communities traditionally focus on supporting kids as needs arise. This work is crucial for the safety of our students. Equally important, though, is prevention-based programming that can help, early on, prevent the social-emotional challenges our kids may be experiencing from escalating.
