Policy Number:
Superintendent File: EEAC-R

Except as otherwise required by law, transportation of students to and from school is the legal responsibility of parents. However, the District does provide transportation for all students who are within the established transported boundaries.  Bus routes are established prior to the start of the school year and are sent to all eligible families in the District.

School bus stops shall be located in areas along bus routes and designed to comply with state law regarding students embarking and disembarking on major thoroughfares.

School bus stops will be placed at strategic locations along routes. Since these routes are streamlined it is the parent’s responsibility to get their students safely to and from the established stops.

In some instances, a student may be transported even though he or she does not qualify under the terms of this policy, if, as determined by the superintendent, or designee, extreme hardship or dangerous conditions justify such an exception, or if the student is a student with disabilities or a homeless student who requires transportation services in accordance with applicable law.
