Not your average spring break!
PARKER – Some students from Sierra Middle School spent spring break learning about Ecuador's culture, environment and people during a whirlwind tour of the country.
Twenty-three students and four chaperones practiced speaking Spanish as they observed everything from religious practices to farming techniques. The group played and worked during their visit, and tried a variety of foods with each meal. They also toured two of the largest cities in the country and visited a deserted island...watching wildlife, bartering for souvenirs and making friends along the way.
"It was an amazing, unforgettable experience," said Spanish Teacher Brent Sheffield. "The group gained a greater appreciation for the world around us."
Students posted blog entries and photos to a website while they were gone. Follow this link to visit the Sierra Student Travel blog.
