District Accountability Committee Fall Forum

The District Accountability Committee (DAC) Fall Forum is coming up on Thursday, October 26, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Mountain Ridge Middle School, 10590 Mountain Vista Ridge, Highlands Ranch. The event theme, “Developing Safe Supported and Thriving DCSD Students” will feature topics that are meaningful and inspiring to you and your family. Parents, principals, teachers, School Accountability Committee (SAC) members, district employees, those connected to neighborhood schools, charter schools, and all community members are invited and encouraged to attend.

Session topics will include:

  • Mental Health and Wellness
  • Physical Safety and Communications Strategies
  • Wrap Around Services
  • Standard Response Protocol
  • Crisis Preparation and Response
  • New SAC Member Training
  • UIP Training for SAC Members

Doors open at 5:00 pm so that attendees will have time to network prior to the start of the event.

Although a few featured sessions will be Livestreamed, everyone is strongly encouraged to attend in person.

The Douglas County School District Board of Education welcomes Dr. Thomas S. Tucker into the role of Superintendent of Douglas County School District. Dr. Tucker officially leads the 68,000 student district as of July 1, 2018.


Nearly 1,500 Colorado students applied for the prestigious Boettcher Foundation Scholarship this year, with 42 being named recipients. Of those, the Douglas County School District (DCSD) is proudly home to four recipients.


When it comes to mental health services, communities traditionally focus on supporting kids as needs arise. This work is crucial for the safety of our students. Equally important, though, is prevention-based programming that can help, early on, prevent the social-emotional challenges our kids may be experiencing from escalating.
